Download Pinterest videos on iPhone

On iPhone, open the pin in the Pinterest app, tap the three dots and choose “Copy link”. Paste it in the box above and press Download. Safari asks for confirmation, then saves the MP4 to Files → Downloads. To get it into your camera roll, open it there and tap Share → Save Video.

Accepts links from pinterest.com, any country domain, and pin.it

Three steps to download

  1. Copy the pin link

In the Pinterest app, open the video pin, tap the three dots at the top and choose “Copy link”. In Safari, tap the address bar and copy it.

  2. Paste it on this page

Tap the field above and hold to Paste. Safari may show an “Allow paste” prompt — accept it, or type Ctrl+V on an iPad keyboard.

  3. Pick the quality

Every resolution the pin has is listed, best first. On a phone screen the top one is the right answer.

  4. Confirm the download

Safari asks “Download …?”. Tap Download. The blue arrow next to the address bar shows the progress.

  5. Move it to Photos

Open the Files app → Downloads, tap the video, then Share → Save Video. It lands in the camera roll, in Recents.

Why the video does not go straight to Photos

iOS keeps a strict separation: Safari writes downloads into the Files sandbox, and only you can move media into the Photos library, through the share sheet. No website can write to your camera roll — that is an iOS rule, not a limitation of this tool.

It is two extra taps, and it is also why no “Pinterest downloader” app for iPhone can skip the step either.

Requirements and other browsers

You need iOS 13 or later — that is when Safari gained a download manager. Before it, downloading any file in mobile Safari was impossible.

Chrome and Firefox for iOS run Safari’s engine underneath, so the flow is identical; only the location of the downloads button changes. Chrome for iOS keeps downloaded files in its own tab menu until you export them.

Common iPhone problems

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app to download Pinterest videos on iPhone?

No. Safari on iOS 13 and later downloads files on its own. An app adds nothing except ads and permissions.

Can I save it directly to Photos?

Not in one step — iOS does not let a website write to the camera roll. Download it, then Share → Save Video from the Files app.

Does it work on iPad?

Identically. The Files app has a wider layout, and downloads land in the same Downloads folder.
