Copyright and content removal
PinCrate hosts no media. It locates the public address of a file already hosted by Pinterest and passes it to the person who asked. Because nothing is stored, there is no copy of your work for us to delete — but we do act on notices, and this page explains exactly what we can do.
What we can and cannot remove
We can: block a specific pin or media URL from being resolved by our service, terminate access for users who abuse the tool, and answer any rights holder in writing.
We cannot: delete a file from Pinterest, remove a copy already downloaded to someone’s computer, or identify who downloaded what — we keep no such record. To remove content at the source, file the notice with Pinterest, which does host it.
Sending a notice
Email copyright@pincrate.site with:
- Your name, address and a signature (electronic is fine)
- Identification of the work you own
- The exact pin or media URL involved
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them
Complete notices are acted on within 72 hours, usually much sooner. Incomplete ones get a reply explaining what is missing rather than silence.
Counter-notice
If your access or a URL was blocked in error — you own the content, or the use is licensed or otherwise lawful — reply with an explanation and evidence. Blocks made in error are reversed, with the reason recorded.
Repeat infringers
Access to the service is terminated for anyone who repeatedly uses it to infringe. There is no account to close, so this takes the form of blocking at the network level.
For users: what you may download
Content you created, content licensed to you, content in the public domain, or content whose owner gave you permission. Downloading someone else’s video to repost as your own is copyright infringement, and no tool changes that.
